Sal,

I just had a quick question: where does the #C52BMS (Micarta Calypso Jr.) fall on the strength scale? Medium-heavy?

Thanks,

John

I would say stronger than the FRN versions and definitely strong enough for the blade size. This is my favorite knife and I have been using it for anything and everything for 5 years or so. I have 2 spares, but haven't needed to bring them into service yet. I would have to say medium and not really heavy duty.

I wouldn't use it as the linch pin for towing supper tankers, but for anything sensible cutting wise I would have absolutly no worries.
I would suspect that it would clasify as medium duty stregnth on the Spydie scale, but then again heavy duty consists of withstanding a couple hundred pounds of pressure, and I can't imagine any situation that would require that of a knife.
