Im curious about the differances between the black and green micartas. The only knife i have right now with micarta is a Ranger RD-6 with black micarta. It appears to be more green than black though. Is this the case with Busses? From the pics I have seen it is hard to tell. Can anyone post better pics of the differance. Is the green simply the black with a little more green to it?Appreciate any help you guys can provide.Thanx.

Not entirely sure why this is, perhaps it's the canvas making it appear greenish when dry. Get the black wet though and it's very black, likewise a green micarta that appears tan when dry often turns a deep shade of green when wet.

The old black canvas micarta tended to look green when clean and dry. The more recent stuff is simply black. As an example, here is my old NO-e with black canvas and my most recent black canvas handled SFNO Variant:

Lighting accounts for some of the difference, but not all.

Thanx alot man. I actually like the color of the NO-E more. So the ASH-1 black micarta coming from Busse soon will look like the SFNO you have there?

That is a reasonable inference, and one I am making, but only Jerry et al can tell us for sure. I certainly haven't seen this greenish hue recently.
