I really like the old screw handled Randall model 14's and 15's from the Vietnam era and know i'll never be able to afford an original so I reproduced a similar knife. This one is A2 steel with a convex grind, 7" blade and 5" handle. This micarta is old, either 50 or 100 years old used by the Baltimore Gas and electric as an insulator. Thanks for looking.

Excellent job. Is this the one you showed on another thread, where the handle is one-piece, with a mortise (or whatever you call it) in the top to take the blade? Is the handle removable?

Yes this is the one. The handle could be removed with this set up. It would be easy to replace the handle if necessary. The way I have it the handle doesn't need to be removed unless it needed to be replaced. I put epoxy along the top where the tang is to seal it also around the guard and micarta also to seal out any moisture.

is this one a full tang?
how did you put the guard on??
It's a narrow full tang. The guard is soldered on. Here's a pic with the handle off. The screws are off set.

I don't see why not. :D There will be changes I'll be doing if I do any more. I am going to use hex screws instead of flatheads, They are easier to install. I stabbed myself in the hand with the screwdriver screwing these in.:grumpy: Hexes would be easier. I would also like to do some without the finger grooves. Different hardwoods would be nice to use also. I guess there can be alot of other options available. I could see doing this with a wider blade too.
