Check out these videos of this guy creating interesting furniture using resin impregnated denim.

Plain blue denim

Blue donum "Damascus"

Black denim and aluminum damascus

I saw those videos and immediately thought about creating DIY handle slabs. The idea of combining other materials (Aluminum etc) is intriguing. Working with much smaller amounts of materials would be less involved and cheaper to do than a table top.

Imagine doing it with various camo patterns popped into my head.

Maybe a molded sheath . . .don't know if that is possible but can't hurt to try.

Imagine a Chris Reeve "Green Beret with handle slabs of a modern pixilated camo and matching sheath

Someone else please look at this idea, I am not able to do anything with it for health reasons .

He layered many layers of denim presoaked with activated resin and vacum-bagged the stack till it cured.

He used a thi, penetrating resin with an extended cure time.

When cured, he composit is strong enough to make a usable desk or table.
