Micarta+G10 hardness?

Hi im not here to debate on which is harder, but i would like to know the average
Rockwell scale hardness of each material.

It does not need to be exact but a close number would be nice as i am planning on using these materials in other applications that require a hard enough material.

This is not a meaningful question as regards the Rockwell C scale used in knife blades.

There are other Rockwell scales. Norplex says that their micarta runs from 75 to 122 Rockwell M depending on what grade you buy. The only data I find for G10 says 110. But that is for a single material from a single manufacturer. You cannot depend on that number. G10 varies about as widely in its absolute properties as micarta. Especially as there is a tendancy in the knife world to use "g10" to describe any epoxy glass laminate.

The bottom line is I do not know what you want to do, but I think trying to evaluate hardness is not going to help you.

G-10 and Micarta will not let you down. They are different so pick the one you like best.
