What do people do with their micarta after it’s profiled, contoured and sanded to 1200?? Any treatment ? or will it be shiny and complete at that point?

I am just a novice, but I wipe a light coat of simple vegetable oil on it. For me, it seems to help wipe away some of the dust and loose particles that were still clinging. Maybe water would do the same thing, but it seems like the vegetable oil sinks into the open fibers and stays better.

if I were going to put oil on something, I'd use baby oil or mineral oil or something like that. veg oil can go rancid and stink.

After 1200, the handle should be polished. A buffer is a good thing to have. After that, it should be waxed.

Carnuba Wax...I prefer Mothers Hard Carnuba on handles and Blades.

Buffing is the next step if you want it shiny, then wax if desired (or not).
Be aware, Some micartas wont shine as bright as others. For some folks buffed maybe too slippery as a user knife.

I've used Flitz plastic polish to put a shine on synthetic handle materials.

Dang, I love my flitz for Metal didn't know they did plastic polish. I will try some of that. I use polywatch for acrylic watch crystals, bet it's basically the same as flitz plastic.
