I've got an itch for a Micarta handled knife.... Probably a sod buster, but the GEC Weaver Jack is calling me too. To satisfy my wants, I was hoping some of you could give recomendations and post up pics of any Micarta Sod Busters, Hawkbills, Work Knives..... or anything else. :D

The new sodbusters from Queen with micarta scales look good. For some reason, the other knives they offered just don't jive with micarta. That sodbuster, though, looks great. Custom knives look good with micarta, J Oeser is a maker that comes to mind who favors micarta and carbon fiber, his models have looked exceptionally pleasing to me with both handle materials.

I think if Case made a Sodbuster with micarta it would be a great seller. I'll have to check out the Queen that was mentioned.

My avatar is a KHnutbuster by Kerry Hampton. He stamped my Mothers birth, and death dates on an inside liner for me.

Top knife here is my TLAR jack:

And this one is my modified sodbuster:

Both of these knives were built for me by Keith Johnson. The sodbuster is chocolate paper micarta and the other one is Westinghouse micarta.

My sodbuster is a K. R. Johnson--the red micarta is terrific, and the knife is just really nicely made and really nice to use. It has dominated EDC time since it arrived:

Here's a Rough rider linerlock work knife in micarta next to a small Case soddie. The RR is built like a tank. They used to sand the finish down so the grain showed, wish they still did that, had a better grip.

Best regards

Not a sodbuster, but a heckuva worker!

Saw an Equal End Alsdorf on here not long ago in Maroon Micarta with a clip blade that I am still having dreams about. :o Would love to own that one some day.

These are driving me crazy! I so wish GEC would make a 71 or 85 in canvas micarta.
