The micarta inlay Sebenzas used to come with leather pouches, correct? They don't currently. Does anyone know when that changed?

I bought the Large Sebenza 21 Micarta Inlay last year in November 2012. It didn't come with leather pouch. I bought the pouch separately though.
If I'm not mistaken the wood inlay will come with leather pocuh. Don't know when micarta inlay comes with pouch.

I'm talking back in the Classic days - 2006, 2007. I know that in the last several years the 21s did not come with pouches.

I purchased this large about a year ago from Blade HQ. Sheath included.

Large Insingo from January 2012, no sheath. I did not know they ever came with one! I just assumed that since they were not polished they did not get an included pouch

This is why I'm asking about older knives. I have a 2006 micarta inlay Classic that has the pouch.

I bought the first Micarta sold in 2005 at the Blade debut, and then another in 2006.
I still have them both, and neither came with a sheath. I can't remember seeing any sold that had the sheath, but you don't often see a Classic Micarta for sale.

I didn't think any came with a sheath. Did you buy yours new, or did you buy it second hand ?
Thats odd if it left the factory with a sheath.

Bought it from a dealer, but the sale was ambiguous - not clear whether it was actually new or sold as like new. Maybe I need to call CRK. :)
Although I didn't say so in my OP, it definitely crossed my mind that maybe the pouch was added afterwards by a buyer who never used the knife so what I got was a NIB knife + sheath rather than a New knife + sheath. I am more than totally fine with either, this is just curiosity. :)

Thanks, Baceleo. Out of curiosity, what does the card say for date?

I purchased my large Micarta on November 26, 2012 from Blade HQ. The birth card is dated October 15, 2012. TAKE NOTE, it has a polished blade which might make a difference.

I have a small classic that I purchased in 2006 and it did not come with a sheath.

I purchased a Sebenza 21 with carbon fiber inlays from BladeHQ and it did include the leather pouch.

Interesting data points here - thanks to everyone. Maybe I'll call CRK next week and ask if they have had any consistent practice on this (guessing the answer might be no :D ).

Polished bladed sebenza's probably come with pouch is my guess. So micarta sebenza with polished blade might come with pouch like the one in post #6.

Not currently - the two polished blade micarta inlays I bought in 2010/2011 came with no pouch. The 2006 that I recently bought had a pouch, and it had a fully stonewashed blade.
