I want an Insingo. I am HOOKED on micarta inlays though *Not sure if that is offered*. I looked around and I guess I could call CRK tomorrow:eek::D Also, what is the general consensus on the Insingo's? Real use and general feedback from firsthand experience?:)

Thanks!

I brought this up with CRK at Shot Show. At THIS TIMEthere is nothing planned for inlaid insingos. Trust me, they know that everyone wants them.

Okay, I understand then. Thanks for the FAST responses!

How does everyone like the blade design? That is after being used to the regular/classic/21 blade and switching over? Pros/Cons? Im searching more threads now and I am finding a lot of answers though.

Thanks again!

I've edced a small regular and a small 21 each for about a year. I bought the small insingo when it first came out last year and have edc it since. It has been hands down the best blade shape for edc tasks (for me, its boxes, envelops, cutting some foods). I also find the swedge very useful when you need to deburr say cheap chopsticks or a fingernail that is acting up.

I do miss the "point" or "tip" of the reg/21 but I wouldn't give up the insingo for it. Insingo is also hands down MUCH easier to sharpen since there is a lack of belly.

I say insingo all the way!

Thanks! I may have to get a plain jane (I love them too) and if the Micarta ever comes, well, then I will buy one.:D

I appreciate the help.

Im really close on getting a large Insingo as well,,,,,,as a slicer it looks hard to beat.

I know of at least one of these that exist but it was built from 2 sebbies, one of which was my Insigno i had sold.

Trust me if you haven't seen the piktars of it, it looks damn good

If CRK knows they have a winner in this combination why won't they produce it? :( Hopefully it is just a matter of time.

If JP see's this thread hopefully he can post another picture of the knife.

I REALLY love my Large Insingo. It cuts incredibly well, the blade shape also allows you to use the entire length of the edge evenly, instead of favoring cutting predominantly with the belly of the blade, which makes the blade dull consistently as opposed to one area dulling while the rest of the blade remains sharp.

Thanks again!

And yeah, I could see a ladder damascus blade, micarta insets with bead blasted handle slabs and silver trim. I would buy and use that knife.

Like you, I wanted a Micarta Insingo, so I contacted CRK a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, this is the response I got.

Mike,

Thank you for your email. Selling the Insingo to the public is a new item for us. We are not yet equipped to enter the variety of combinations on the knife you requested. At this time I am not sure how we will offer it. That being said, I can take your order if you provide me with the information requested in the attached order form, but I don’t know when we will (if we do) offer it. Let me know how you want to proceed.

Best regards,

Heather

I still don't understand what they need to be set up for. It's not like the micarta handles are any different than the Insingo handles. I ended up just purchasing a plain Insingo a few days ago, which I said I wouldn't do. If I really like the design, I'll buy a micarta inlay sebbie, and make my own inlay Insingo. Folks say you can't do it, but I don't buy that. They claim each handle is hand fitted to each blade, but I just don't see it being that much of an issue. Obviously, someone else had the same idea as me, and did it, so I think I'll end up doing it as well eventually.

I would love to have this combo. I really really really like the Insigno. I haven't pulled the trigger on one yet.

Forgive my ignorance on the subject, but are the Insingo scales not the same as the 21 scales? I know I've seen a picture (either on here or in my dreams) of a diamond plate Insingo.

Yes the Insingo and 21 scales are the same.I also seen the diamond plate one that your talking about,,,,the person bought a 21 Seb and the Insingo and swapped scales on them. You cant get anything but plain scales from a dealer/CRK.

Well now I have this vision in my head and everything else is just falling short. That is what dreaming can do to you:D
