Good evening everyone, today I picked up several knives in a group purchase. Among them was the Jester, I had no idea what it was but I really liked it. After researching it I found out that it was made in 2002 and only a thousand of them were made. After a little more research I found out that they were selling new in box for several hundred dollars. This one shows minimal use if any, it's an extremely good condition. my question to the Spyderco experts is, is this life too rare to use? I also don't like the idea a very expensive knife sitting in my pocket. Don't get me wrong, I edc a 940-1, and have you edc'd sprint run paramilitary 2's. But as a sheeple EDC, it might be a little too valuable. What are your thoughts?

I always struggle with the same issue.
There are other Jesters out there for less if you don't want to carry that one. Sell it and buy another if you can't live without a Jester, or grab a Manbug or something.

It is up to you. I had an expensive pocket knife stolen from me at a gym, once. Now I am hesitant about carrying my expensive knives. Get a G10 Manbug. It is, in my opinion, a more useful blade shape, and has the same nice heft for such a small knife.

I've always wanted a micarta Jester just never seen one available. If I was you, if hold onto it and buy something comparable in size to use as mentioned above. I don't see the price decreasing on it only increasing over time if unused.

I've been looking for a G10 Jester for a couple weeks but can't track one down anywhere. I'd use it unless you plan on selling down the road, I'm just not big on the idea of collecting knives, they're tools made to be used (unless you buy a gold class or something).

I'd say keep it and use it, but I've had one on my key ring for going on 12 years and think it's the best key chain knife Spyderco ever made, so I'm prejudiced.

I love this baby Spyderco, and I've carried it in my watch pocket since I've got it. I have not really used it though, so I'm going to sell her.

I have one and cannot bring myself up to use it. May be because I have grey G10 jester on my key chain for years. I love liners.
I hope to see sprint jester run, so I will be able to pick-up few for family. I used to have several orange Ladybugs, all of them are gone, except one, which I lost, but recently found.
