I was checking out the Spyderco models at the Chai Cutlery websire, when suddenly I stopped at the Mini-Dyad description. I was very surprised to see that the Zytel Dyad-Jr.(C39 PSBK) DOES NOT include a clothing clip, like the Micarta Mini-Dyad (C39 PS) does.

I made an order a while ago for the Zytel version, believing that it did indeed include a clip. The Spyderco website doesn't even bother to mention this lack of a feature, nor does any other web-site that I've seen selling this model.

I'm kinda fond of clothing clips. I like to have the option of whether to clip the knife to my pocket or just ride it low. Is this true about the Zytel version not having a clothing clip? If so, do you guys who have handled both models suggest I change my order and get the Micarta with clothing clip version?

Thanks.

Yes, it is true that the Zytel version doesn't have a clip on it. I wish it did because they are so lite and so neat. I suggest you give the Zytel one as a gift (to me

) and buy the Micarta handle mini Dyad.

I have both. My own humble opinion is that the micarta Mini-Dyad is too small for the clip to be effective on clothing. As a money clip it's fine. I usually carry a BF Native clipped to my right pocket and a zytel Mini Dyad in my left pocket. Try it. I don't think you'll be disappointed. And if you are, you've apparently already got someone ready and willing to adopt it!!

I came to the same conclusion Fozzy did. That's why there is no clip. A clip would need some metal to fasten to. Suddenly the little knife becomes thick and heavy.

Thanks to Sal and everybody for help, as always. I decided for the Zytel version. There really is no point in clipping the little knife to pocket, since it takes my Native and Calypso Jr.'s space, not to mention my soon to be acquired Starmate
