Just curious - what would ya'll call the color of the micarta grips from the smooth bolt blades sold at the Easton trough show? I'm colorblind, so they pretty much look grayish-brownish-greenish to me. In other words, I have no clue

BTW, that is what I would call them. I have no idea what they are actually called.:)

Does hand smoothed black canvas usually have that layered effect with different colors? I love the way the pattern pops out on these.

Here's a few shots of some smooth, hand shaped black micarta...

Yup... it has the layer look.

Thanks for the pics LF - that helped a lot. I've never really noticed the layering pattern in pictures, but it was the first thing that popped out at me when I got the smooth bolts. I like it a lot

The tint in your pic does have very slight hint of green, or looks like it to me:confused: Color may be off a bit(or my eyes), like others said, its Black canvas. The hand shaped dry look black canvas looks cool and old school to me:thumbup:

Here's one with it..

When I made those handles on the machete this was very evident. The patterns would change as I sanded and made contours. It is cool stuff:thumbup:

I love hand shaped micarta period. The smooth tan canvas on my NMSFNO is awesome, although it doesn't show the layering effect nearly as much as the black canvas does.

I think you have posted these before but I never noticed the handles. They are the coolest I have seen by far:)

Thanks. :)
They are by far the most comfortable fusion handle I've come across too.

Glad I could help. :)
