Micarta properties ?

OK this isn't about knife making directly but here goes : I am looking to build a sinew-backed wood core Asian style archery bow , the belly is usually made of horn as horn as great compressive strength . Was wondering just how much flex 1/8" thick micarta has in a 12" length ?

Is there a noticeable strength difference between paper based and linen based micarta?
 
I can only answer the strength question. Paper is the weakest of the bunch, with linen and canvas being stronger. I "think" the linen is the strongest, but I am not sure.

You may want to try G-10 as well, but if Micarta works for you, I'd go with that personally. Micarta has way more character than G-10, and it sure would be pretty on a bow!
