Just received my TGULB and I love it.

I just noticed an odd variation in the micarta. Almost looks chipped? Or is it something else?
Never seen this before

Any ideas?

I haven't tried WD40 but I often use Mineral Oil on my Micarta handles (especially new ones) to darken the lighter fibers and give them a more even warn look. The oil on your hands do the same thing with time. I purchased 2 matching Triceratops with Black Micarta, I carried one and hung the other on the wall. 3 months later they looked completely different.

I think all the previous suggestions are a good place to start. Looks like it just was not dyed evenly. The oil trick has worked for me in the past on Micarta.

what does wd40 do to micarta?
I’d have to go find the post but someone in the past year or so asked about the coating on the micarta and how it was darker fresh from the factory. Garth chimed in and mentioned the blades were treaded with lubricant prior to their departure and suggested hit them with WD40 if you would like for you older micarta to look newer.

Thanks everyone. Took your advice but couldnt get it to change colour, so will reach out to Garth.

Use it hard...you'll forget about that.
My thoughts exactly. I really can’t even see the issue. If it’s the lighter colored area, that just looks like freshly sanded micarta. It’ll darken and blend in.

Nothing I saw in the pics would bother me in the slightest.
