How are you guys liking the Herringbone Micarta?

Is it similar in construction and grip to the Evergreen Burlap?

LV - I have one knife (a grind in knife) with the herringbone material and I like it. It doesn't have the grip that my other Shadetree micartas have but it could be how I finished it.

LV, in my opinion the construction and grip are pretty much the same if finished the same.

Westy & Mist,

Thank you for the feedback.
It's a little flashy for my usual tastes, but I'm liking it.

The Evergreen on my Leuku is confidence inspiring. Also a break from my usual with the toxic green liners. Grippy is good, especially up here where your fingers are frozen and snow covered half of the year.

I think the grip is about the same. I really like how the pattern becomes increasingly random as I shape the handle.

Last night I dug the knife pictured above out of the safe and take another "feel". Definitely more grippy than I had remembered the last time I used it this summer. I did polish it up to a much higher grit than my Fiddlebacks but it still had more grip than my other micartas. Now I am interested in knocking the grit level back a bit. I have really grown to love the feel of my Surl Lil Ness, Camp Nessie and Terrasaur all in Shadetree micartas.

Yes sir,

I like the Leuku in the Evergreen. Grippy, but not abrasive. Like the middle bear. Just right.

Now I think I need a matching Nessmuk!
