Micarta questions…full size AND Kepharts

So I have similar questions on micarta scales for both types of Beckers, but they are separate questions…I’d like to hear from you if you replaced your factory scales with micarta.

#1- Bk-1 through BK-21 full size knives, are the scales thicker than the factory scales?

#2 - BK-62 Kephart, are the scales thicker than factory scales? Also, how did you like switching from the wood scales? Would you recommend doing it?

I’m considering getting some, as I really like them on my BK-11 and BK-16, but I found they are thicker than the Tweener factory scales. This can be good or bad depending upon the knife. I can easily handle a little thicker on the BK-10 and BK-62, but not on the BK-2.

Thanks for any/all input!

I think they are a hair thicker on the full-size, and a hair thicker on the Kephart, but not as big a difference as it was on the tweeners. Somewhere in the middle.

Thanks, that info helps a lot! BTW, I have one of your sheaths for my 16 and the fit was startijg to “loosen” a little with factory scales. I put the micartas on and it snaps into the sheath perfectly! I really like your kydex sheaths!

On my BK7 I didn't notice any difference with the grivory or the micarta handles fitting in my Azwelke sheath... (Or my hands :) )

I didn't find the difference to be big enough to change handles when I make the sheaths. It is very slight. It could be that they are made on different machines, and they are intended to be the same, but they are a hair different on occasion.
We might as well call them the same, because I don't believe the difference is big enough to worry about.

I feel like the '62 scales are thicker by maybe the depth of the milling texture. They're great.
They ARE grippier on the inside of the sheath, so that's something you'd feel.
I think they're so good that I put them on my custom kepharts.
