Is there one superior supplier of these scales? I've been on the Becker/Ka-Bar site and see them for $40, and see them available from other places for about the same price. Is there anything I should know before plunking down $40 on some scales from any of the available sources?

I was in the same boat as you.
I searched and searched...
ended up ordering them direct from Ka-Bar.
At least that way I know that they fit and what I'll be getting (I hope),
Thats just the route I went.

I'll let ya know how it goes.

tough choices huh?

The Kabar scales are good (really good). I have a set of Saint Cutlery that are ok, but just don't have the same fit and finish. Tomars carries them, too, fairly reasonably. I don't think there's much profit to be made at that price-point, anyway, which is why you don't see a lot of people out there selling custom micarta scales for these.

Thanks guys. My bro in law gave me a BK2 after getting his. I'm going to get him the scales for his birthday so I wanted some input. That isn't until April so Please let me know how they are!

If you are looking for something different color wise take a look at 710 customs. He does a great job and can do them in micarta, G10, wood or glow in the dark.

The KNife Connection also does G10 thats very nice. 710 does pretty much full custom handles, you could probably pick your colors, materials, whatever, and his work is SHARP
