Micarta Scales

I figured that since Jerry seems to do it so well I would ask here how do they get the diff levels of adheasion for micarta? I have seen super slick mic on some folders then very good mic like on the busse is it just the milling of the scales or how its finished when produced or what. Sorry if this sounds stupid just wondering

Mostly it comes down to the type of milling and finishing that goes into the part that will determine its final appearance.
