Anyone order a small seb 21 with micarta inlays from a dealer? I just placed an order for one as was wondering if the calfskin pouch comes with it. The waiting game is killing me!!

I do not believe the Micarta inlays come with pouches.

I really wish CRK included the calfskin pouch with all Sebs with inlays.
Heck I wouldn't mind if they included the pouches with the plain jane sebs either, but I guess the plain jane Ti and the micarta are "user" friendly so sporting a pouch is not a necessity as with the wood/bone inlays.

I am fortunately close enough to Plaza Cutlery where I picked up a pouch for the small and I currently purchased a used Large Pouch off a member.

What is the purpose of the pouch? Don't want scratches on your handle? The titanium loves getting scratches. The Sebenza loves getting dirty!

I agree, but peoples taste differ, I think the pouch does have its place.

I think the micarta seb does not need to come with a sheath (as far as I know it is the only inlayed one without a pouch). I was disappointed initially but giving some thought, it is seen as a user knife (like the plain janes, just with micarta for extra grip, but inlayed the same as wood) with less aesthetics then those with wood or bone IMO. So no need for a pouch. Those that come with a pouch are also not bead blasted but polished on the handle.

seems to me the the beadblast would produce more noticable scratches than polished....am i wrong?

I think the beadblast is easier to refurbish then the polished handles and from what I have seen a scratch on a polished handle takes longer and more labor to get in out then on a beadblast finish. I might be wrong, someone with both as users might be able to help better then me.

Do the annual limited inlay's come with a pouch? I just bought a large ironwood, beadblast marked 2008. They gave me a Mnandi box, which I did not realize until just now. I want to know before I call the store.

IIRC Those should come with a pouch.

I called CR and they verified it should. Called the store and they said come in and they will give me the right box. Of course it is an hour drive into NYC.:jerkit:

They won't ship it?

If you do drop by the City, don't forget our lovely knife laws. No clips at the very least. You would be best with a SAK or similar if you want to err on the side of extreme caution.
