anyone know where to get black paper micarta sheets, in about 4'square? i'm tired of buying little scales.

Yo magnum!!!! Heres the number for Jantz. 18003518900. The 4 by 4 sheets aren't in their current catalog. I was wanting to buy it by the sheet myself. Hopefully it would be a savings comperable to their dymondwood. If you buy it by the 10 by 5 sheet its 13.9 cents per square inch but if you buy the 16.5 by 31.5 sheets, it's only 8 cents per square inch. Big savings!!!Thanks for posting this thread!! Take care!! Michael

thanks l6, i'll give them a call soon. i'm posting this for future reference, becuase i use micarta alot for hunting, and kitchen knives.

I would suggest that you make sure you get the real westinghouse micarta. I've had poor results with the generic stuff not taking a good finish and discoloring very easily from grinding heat. It's worth the few extra bucks.

Magnum, i've gotten brown micarta remnants from proffessional plastics in kent Wash. before. They can get black very cheap but they need orders of 2 sheet minimum I believe (4'x8' each). If you can find someone to go in with you you could save alot. Contact ken@proplas.com (Ken Bulen)
