The mass produced micarta sold by Texas Knife Makers Supply, Alphaknifesupply, Masecraft and other general knife making stores, is it all the same micarta and quality? So the only thing different between all of these knife making supply stores listed and unlisted are the prices? Or is there a difference between them, if so what is the difference ?

Good to know it could be all of the same quality.

Anyone happen to know the company that makes it?

Pops is cheaper than Masecraft. Masecraft has black canvas 1/4" x 5" x 12" for $15.00. Pops has black canvas 1/4" x 9.5" x 9.5" for $11.00. He has other colors too. I use it all the time with no problems. Pop is a great guy, doesn't mind answering questions, and ships quickly. Here is his link www.popsknifesupply.com .

I have heard that Masecraft supplies all the other knifes supply stores.
You heard wrong Chuck.

Micarta & G10 quality is NOT the same. There are huge differences. You can find G10 & micarta made offshore that is cheap. Problems include voids and delaminations within the material.

We buy our G10 & micarta direct from the manufacturers. It is made here in the US. We've toured the G10 factory and we will tour the micarta factory soon. We know the people who build the material personally and call them on their cell phones when there is a problem or when we have questions.

If anyone has questions please feel free to ask. I have to get back outside and continue cutting the 1,000 pound G10 order we just received.

I will second Pop's. His prices on Micarta and Corby bolts are unbeatable. Along with everything else he sells.

I'll put a word in for Alpha. Their prices are competitive, they have a large inventory, and the customer service is great. Tracy also has good cheap phenolics that seem just fine to me.
