I have a few Sebenas but don't carry themas much as I would like to because they are so nice. I was debating wether to get a plain Sebenza or the micarta. I am leaning towards the micarta but want to know what the texture is. Smooth, tacky or rough.
I have several Bark River knives in Micarta and they generally are more smooth but the appearance of the micarta ion the Sebenza looks more rough.

Smooth enough, but not too smooth. Just enough grip. I got a better grip with my micarta Sebenzas than with my plain Sebenzas, but then I'm a big guy and can get the sweaty hands.

Nope- the micarta inlays used on Sebenzas is also smooth.

They are anything but smooth. The texture is similar to G-10 but a bit more course. Great traction and they help fill the hand a bit.

They also make the knife lighter, something I picked up on comparing the 21 with Micarta inlays to my Regular.

Here's a few random thoughts, watch in HD :D

I guess it's a matter of reference. I thought he was asking if they are textured at all, like an XM-18 for example. Compared to an XM, they are smooth. Compared to others, they are more course/grippier.

Micarta traditionally isn't "textured" like G-10 is. It's up to the material making up the micarta to provide the texture.

I really like the texture of the Micarta inlays. Not too smooth and not too grippy. My large Micarta is my favorite EDC. I stray ocassionally but always come back to my large PE micarta inlay. Like others have said it also fills the hand and is lighter. Its one heck of an all around EDC in my book!
