What are your opinions/thoughts on the differences? I have a 112 Slim Pro in Micarta, love it, and just received a 110 Slim Pro Plus with G10, love it as well. Makael was right on that one.

I'm debating on the new 112 with CF and I'm wondering how it holds up over time? Is it susceptible to nicks and dings?

Thank you for any input you can offer. :)

My apologies! I did a search but obviously didn't do it well. Thank you for the link, even if it is almost 20 years old.

I don’t have or use any carbon fiber so I can’t say much other than the ones I’ve handled seemed a bit to smooth for me to get a good grip. I do have both G10 and Micarta and both are very tough materials and the ones I have and use edc at work don’t show much other than a few scratches. The G10 is more ridged than Micarta but the Micarta feels warmer in my hand in the winter. Both can be finished from smooth polished to a jigged, to a rough bead blasted texture in a variety of colors . I think it comes down to a personal preference as both make excellent tough handles for rugged type work. Overall I like the canvas Micarta best in a semi rough finish.

I have a Marbles D 2 Sowbelly stockman with smooth black canvas micarta, and a SK blades "The Gentleman" Buck 110 with smooth black G10.
I don't have anything with carbon fiber, (other than a fishing rod, which I don't feel is relevant) so I have no input on it.

Honestly, when I'm using the Marbles or that 110, I don't notice any difference.
Neither are slick, wet or dry. Both are adequately grippy, that I don't worry about my hand or fingers slipping and getting sliced.

So far, both seem to neither too hot or too cold to use comfortably.
(Full Disclosure: I acquired the Marbles in August of this year. I have not had the opportunity to use it in the winter, or below 60 degrees or so(Fahrenheit) yet. Neither were uncomfortable to use when it was 90 degrees (Fahrenheit) or warmer when I was outside.)

My guess is any or all of the three make a good knife handle. If one of them didn't, I'm pretty sure the various knife companies wouldn't use it, and it wouldn't be popular on BF. All three are popular handle materials here, from what I've seen.

Good point. I have folders with all of the handle materials and enjoy the looks of the different looks. All of the materials can be finished smooth or textured depending on the process used. All of them can be damaged I have Micarta that got gouged. For me it’s the look that I go for.

I would hate to drop a Carbon fiber the most..
Thank you gentlemen, that is all very helpful, especially this last opinion.

I think I'll hold off on the CF for now and just pick up a 112 Slim Pro Plus. I like the brown Micarta but the G10 just has a little more roughness that I like.

I’ve got a CF 110, and it’s a beautiful knife. Super practical, maybe not, but it sure looks awesome. Thin. Well put together. Very sharp. Seems durable too.

You can almost grab both a micarta and a g10 for the price of the cf.
I have both, but I really like the way the micarta feels in the hand.
It seems to get better with age.

Good point. Since I already have a 112 Slim Pro in brown I am considering a 110 in green to go with the 112 Pro Plus. Or a wood-handled 301? So many options.
