Micarta vs. plain pic request

Greetings, all. I'm trying to decide between the plain and micarta small 21s for an EDC. While I prefer the looks of the micarta, and understand that the weight is the same, given that I'm usually in dress pants or khakis, width/thickness is an issue as well. Would one of you who has both be so kind as to post a picture showing the width comparison? Thanks!

Just picked up a small Micarta and will never switch again.

So, it seems that there is a visually noticeable difference. That makes me think there might be a different feel in the pocket as well. Whatever I end up with will probably spend much more time in the pocket than in the hand. Thanks.

Here is a quick overview for the specifics you were looking for, hopefully this helps.

Both knives are small 21s with insingo blades. The thickness of the plain is .396 at the front of the handle while the micarta is .495. Measured at the clip it is .540 versus .587. I did put both on the scale and the plain weighed in at 85 grams and the micarta at 80 grams. That 5 gram difference is about the weight of a quarter.

I had to decide between these two just last week. I decided on plain because I wanted to make sure the knife wouldnt get "stuck" in an area of my pocket because of the width/"grippyness" of the handles. My MiniGrip does at times, and its stock, so all plastic and .515" at its thickest. I liked the PJ Sebenza for being svelte and being less sticky in the pocket :D
 
That's good to hear, Maven. I usually carry a Mini Ritter Grip and it's the thickness that makes me want to change. Like you, I'm leaning toward the plain.

I alternate now between a small Micarta Insingo and a PJ Insingo and I haven't decided which I like better. The Micarta is easier to get a grip on to pull from the pocket and fills the hand a little better. I like the wear the PJ wears. I also have a Ritter MiniGrip that I find a bit bulky in the pocket and I thought thickness would be an issue but I just don't notice the difference in the pocket.
I like em both and haven't decided which I'd sell if I needed to.
