I bought a piece or two of antique(yellow) micarta while I was in Atlanta at the knife show and have not been able to find any more. The knife suppy dealers say that the manufactors are using a different dye now. That really suxs. Not to be out done I hit the search on the ol'interent looking for the people who make the stuff. It's not too hard to find them. What is hard for me to understand is that some grades of micarta are not to pricy, but what they call the decorative grade is and the minimum order will cause you to backflip. Now, why do you recon this is? Could it be that this is a ploy so that only certain companies can arrange to purchase or have the ability to purcahse 10,000 Lbs of the stuff. That sucks as well.

Koval knives sells a antique gold, I know, its not yellow but what I do is take it down to a 600 grit finish then bead blast it w/100g glass beads. It kinda takes on a faded yellow tint. Try it, I think you'l like the results.
