I just received my first custom knife today, a Michael Morris 'friction folder'. I can't say enough about it so i wont try - i showed it to three non knife people today and they all thought it was so cool.. and one of the best parts is, how affordable the knife was! 115 with a sheath + shipping!! Truly awesome! everyone should patronize this excellent craftsman! and now for the pics!

That is a great looking folder!!! friction folders are the area of traditionals I want to focus on making and Michael really does attractive pieces.

^^ that was def. one of the selling points! the bottle opener is the most often used tool on my SAK, next to the blade(s) which until this, WAS my true edc...
and you are right, super light weight, even with the sheath! and the good curves on the leather make it very comfortable in the pockets, and i wear slim jeans..

I have one almost identical - excellent. Just personal preference, but I find no need for a sheath.

I really like the look of that knife, and i've been looking to take a first step into the world of customs. Except I can't help but worry about the functionality of a friction folder. I am not one to carry a knife like this in a sheath, so how would it do in the pocket? Or is it even possible to carry this thing in your front pocket?

Very nice knife. I really the bottle opener . I never used a friction folder before. would the knife stay closed in a pocket with out the sheath? Thanks for posting . Awsome looking knife.

Easily, Morris' friction folder will not open by itself. It needs quite alot force to open, at least mine does ;)

Here's mine:

It carries easily in all pockets but watch pocket that I have had. Nice and slim. With the sheath its not thicker than grliptilians or some spyderco models.

ISK,

Thanks for the pics beautiful knife. Have always wanted to try one of those and one of his fixed blades. Maybe in a few weeks I will have the cash to do so. Can't wait.
