Mike Q says, "This is my first Dogbone Bowie along with many other firsts. This knife is the first I've done with an eschuteon plate as well as a 5 piece spacer. The blade, guard, spacers, eschuteon plate and finial are all made from the same billet of tiled W pattern damascus. The frame is made from twisted W's. The coined liners are German silver. The domed pins are Sterling silver. The scales are certified pre-ban ivory. The 8 5/8" blade has a Sheffield clip and theOAL is 13 5/8".

It's very well done in every way - one of those knives that kicks off a familiar refrain in my head like, "Wow, this nice. H'mm... I wonder if it's already spoken for. H'mm... I wonder how much he wants for it etc. etc. etc."

There's lot's of good clean detail everywhere one looks. The ivory scales are primo thick and beautiful. Mike's hi-contrast damascus blade is filled with interesting visual patterns, some of which have 3D qualities. And, in getting to know this knife over several days in my studio, I found that it has a subtle elegant beauty underneath. The second image below was my attempt to reveal that. The first image is a composite totally devoted to capturing critical views and detail contributing to the powerful first impression it makes.

Nice pictures Buddy, I got to look this over real close on a visit with Mike and it is a beauty and must have been a great challenge to photograph.

Very nicely done. Buddy your photography really shows off the knife though I am sure there is much the camera just cannot capture.

Mike this one is WAAY over the top. So clean yet complicated at the same time. Probably favorite of yours so far. But that is surpassed with just about every post you make.

Beautiful photo of a stunning piece of work.
Geez Mike, when you mentioned this... An outstanding knife and definitely looks like yours.

Terrific piece Mike, and beautiful photos Buddy. Man, stuff like this has me itching for the annual Best Bowie event and there's still half a year left!

That knife is spectcular! Buddy, your photo is equally great! It must have been very hard to capture lal the intricate details on that knife!

Mike kicked it up a notch on this one. we have been talking on the phone and he has sent me some pics of the progress along the way. I knew it would be killer. And I warned him that he would have to make more if he showed this one. Best part is that Mike is on his way here to teach a 5 day Damascus Class with me and so is the knife, so I am going to get to hold it and pick Mikes brain about how it all fits together. Super job cant wait to see it. Nice pictures Buddy.

Spectacular build. Complicated processes. Visually arresting.

Buddy's photo is crystal-clear and dramatic, all at the same time. Not easy to have both.

Bravo's to ALL!

Buddy, thanks for the amazing pictures and write-up. The more I look at the shot of the knife in the box, the more I like it.

This knife kicks off a new way for me to approach knifemaking. I have all these projects in my head that I've been wanting to try but still have orders to fill. So to keep me sane I'm going to fill an order or two and then do something that I want to build. I seriously doubt they will all turn out like this dogbone, it was a real challenge to build, but I'm very happy with it.

Thank you for all the kind words.

Stunning Mike ! ! ! You have raised your game to a whole new level . Thanks for such good photo's Buddy!
