  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Michael Raymond Estrella at work....

That design totally reminds me of the Lochsa

Yep, they are cousins. Except this maker actually responds to emails, engages in conversation, and two of three of my friends that owned both, prefer the Estrella.

I don't know much about the maker, but that is one fine knife.

Michael Raymond is an extremely nice man. I met him at Blade when I bought my Estrella. I e-mailed him once and he responded pretty quickly.

I believe he was a machinist by trade, got some mentoring from Scott Cook and with Cook's blessing began making the Estrella.

They are perfection.

Check out this video I made of it locking up:

Woot! I think I might save up some cash for one, but his books are closed.
Thanks!

That snap the lock bar makes sounds absolutely awesome :D I love the look of the Lochsa and the Estrella, one day I hope to have one.

He goes to shows and sells them first come first serve. He brought a dozen to Blade last year. His was the third table I ran to (after RJ Martin and Peter Rassenti) and by the time I got there (15 into the show) he only had two left.

They are actually pretty readily available on the secondary market and the prices aren't absurb. About $200-$300 more than the direct price.

I doubt I will be making it to blade anytime soon. I might just have to continue admiring them from a distance. :)
