Here are photos of the few possible combinations for the Michael Raymond Estrella. It's a good reference point if you want to see what the jigged handle looks like next to the plain or rippled handle, and a swedge blade next to a standard blade. The pearl pivot was a recent addition, as it replaced a Timascus pivot.

Cool! Thanks for posting these. I did not even know he made these with Damascus blades. Although I find it hard to see from the angled pictures how much difference there is between the swedge versus the "standard" blade. Maybe I will have to try to get one with a standard blade so I can compare it up close with my swedged version. :D

NICE! I really like the addition of the pearl pivot...adds a serious touch of class. The jigging an ripple patterns are pretty awesome too, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like that on Ti before. Cool!!

Three guesses as to who your favorite maker is.... and the first two don't count.
Sweet knives Eric, congrats.

That goes a ways towards answering my questions about swedge vs non-swedge.

Thanks

Thanks for the follow up on the original discussion! Reinforces why I went "swedge".

I like the swedge, but appreciate the lines, shape, and overall appearance of the non-swedge blade. I've seen an identical pearl pivot Estrella with a swedge, and IMO, it looks better without for that particular pin. The pearl pivot is "soft", and the swedge blade is too aggressive of a look for it.

I love his jigged frame. While I love having the plain Jane version, I'd love a timascus pivot for a little pop of color though.

That is a nice set! That's for sharing, I am coming up soon on his list and have to choose my options

I'm digging that pearl pivot. Really looks nice bro.

i was fooling around with my iphone, here are two end views of the swedge and non-swedge.

i go back and forth between the two. right now, the regular version is on top. to me, the lines are purer.
