Hey folks. Just felt like introducing myself. 24-year-old Michigander here. Wanting to learn some basic outdoors skills that I can use for camping and hiking over night trips.

A buddy of mine (crowdog) told me about the forums and introduced me to the amazing RAT knives through his Izula and RC-6. Looking forward to getting a RAT myself.

I've posted a little in that part of the forum as well. Was going to try my hand at a contest they had going on but wasn't able to pick up the tool in time.
 
hey gungho, welcome to the forums. Where in Michigan are you? Im in the grand rapids area and where do you like camping?
 
Hey s12, thanks for the welcome.

I'm about an hour north of Grand Rapids. I usually camp out on my parents 40 acres. But it's more of your pampered type camping where you set up a tent, have prepared food all ready to go, lawn chairs, etc.

I'm looking to try my hand at more rugged, sleep in the dirt type camping.

EDIT: Thanks as well Glock. I take it you like the Glock semi-autos? I wanna get me a Glock 21. I shot it once and it was a blast.
