Mick Koval has passed away.

His death was a suicide yesterday.

Mick had been very ill for a while now with extreme depression.

He will be missed in the industry.

This is all the details that are available at this time.

This is shocking and terrible news. My thoughts and prayers go out to Mick's family.

we will keep his family in our prayers. This has got to be a very difficult time for them. Sad news, indeed.

Kind regards,

Can someone let me in on who he was? Koval Knife supply?
Man, thats hard news for anyone!

Mick was the slim older man who ALWAYS had a smile and a friendly word for anyone stopping by his table. Koval Knife Supply sets up at almost all the major knife shows, and a lot of the gun/knife shows. He usually had a big cowboy hat on. I'll miss him terribly. I was looking forward to seeing him this weekend at the Indy gun show. :(

so unfortunate. My prairs are with the family.

Very sad news indeed. :( My thoughts go out to the family and close friends.

That is very sad, suicide is always harder on those left behind, my prayers go out for Mick and to his family and friends.

This is horrible to hear.....I hope he is in a better place.

The Koval's were probably those most responsible for getting me into knifemaking years ago. I went to their store to but some wood to make custom .45 grips and got inspired.

Mick and his family always treated you good and remembered who you are.

Let us not forget he made some beautiful knives too.

Will miss that ol' cowboy hat for sure........... :(

God Speed and RIP Mick......God Bless all of your family and friends.......a great loss for sure.

That's truely shocking and terrible news :( I talked to him at several shows that he attended. Prayers go out to his family.

That is terrible news! My thoughts go out to his family. Those folks have been great to do business with, for sure. He really was a good knife maker, his first interest, pertaining to knives.

Very sorry to hear this. I really enjoyed chatting with him on the phone numerous times. My condolences to his family and friends.

This is a shock and very sad to hear. The last time I saw Mick was at the Ohio show and I thought he was feeling better. That's a real shame and our heart and best wishes go out to the family. You'll be missed Mick.
