Yep,
Here they are, the only Prototype tiger striped SLCCs out there, thanks to the kindness of TAD and also thanks to Mick for such wonderful work.

Top is made of Ti and the one below in Talonite.
Warmest wishes,
Oliver
PS I believe that the first prototype was in the hands of Knifebomber at the 2001 Balde Show in Atlanta. That too was a real nice piece.

OLIVER,
I brought back 4 of those beauties from the Edged Weapons seminar and was really happy to get them. One is with a Tac Team member, another in the hands of a serviceman and I have one with my Air Wing for EDC. These are GREAT, they are so light that similar to a CF tool you sometimes check to make sure they are there!!!

Nice pix guy!
Take Care,
J

Joseph,
Thanks and you are absolutely right about them being super light being beautiful works from Mick.
Warmest wishes,
Oliver
PS check other threads for my Strider customs

Those are great! I remember seeing a pic of a SLCC with a false edge. Was that a one off sort of thing? BTW Josh if your reading this, don't forget to email me when you get one of these. ;)

Oliver,
I don't want to hurt your feelings, but there is another Talonite TS version of that knife. I'd bet it was an earlier edition of that one. I wonder who owns it as well as the Ti proto.....

Hi there Ryan!

Great to hear from you. I beleive you, as you got the very first Ti prototype.:)Hope we can see a picture of those soon.

AncientSUL & fq55, as I got them from TAD, I am sure they will have a chance to get somemore in future. Keep in touch with them and preorder if prorders on these are taken. Thanks for your kind comments.

Thanks again and warmest wishes,

Oliver

So who has the only custom serial numbered tiger striped talonite one that is being custom rigged by Skunkworks as we speak.........ME. :)

They are so bad a** its not even funny.

Hi Nyeti!

Sounds Great! Lets have a look if you can post a picture.

Did you see the pictures of the older hand cut and ground DB that I posted in another thread?

Warmest wishes,
Oliver

The SLCC is one great knife, small and light - but with a useful size cutting edge.

I have the non-tiger strip, Talonite prototype from TAD - I guess I was five minutes behind Oliver in making the call :(

Regards,

Ed

Mick,

Multiple choice

a)sold it (I wanted it at the Blade Show you know!):D
b)gave it away/donated it
c)swapped it
Now, which one of the above Mick?

Warmest Greetings
Oliver

Gave it away for free!:D One of my fellow gunners had more need than I did. But, mine says -PAL-, so I can deal with it.

Mick,
Pacman should be bringing more goodies back with him this weekend, including your desert flight suit. That is if he calls me while out here.

Ryan,

I knew you are a true genleman..Oh Ahh..Gentle Knifebomber :D
You know, something always comes back when you are generous to others.
Yep, I have seen your generous deeds first hand and I thank you :)

Warmest wishes and Thanks again,

Oliver

Ryan is totally selfless.
He gave a guy he didn't eve know his replacement SA in a custom boot sheath, because he thought the guy needed it.
Thats why he's a Strider PAL.
Oliver, yours are two of the first SLCC's. Anywhere from #'s 3-6. Not sure though.
The one with no stripes was cool too. It had kind of a frosted edge.
The first Talonite one had a false edge. (That one was destroyed in a tiger striping test).
I don't make them with a false edge.
On a backslash, a false edge will cut. While a non-sharp spine will ‘hook' and penetrate.
I like it when that happens.

Thanks for your kind words.

Mick

Ah, Mick, that's crap and you know it. The guy was a cop that was in need of a boot knife. You guys cut me such a good deal on stuff and the turnaround is next to nothing. I figured he needed and deserved it more than I did. It's not like I gave up a kidney. Besides, I will have a knife to replace it soon anyways.
