I saw four Al Mars today that were not much over 1.25 inches if they were that. Very tiny lock backs with a variety of handle materials including a sort of pink coral one. The prices were from $9.00 to $140.00 depending on scale material. They were all teh same lock back pattern and had stainless or nikel silver bolsters on the pivot end.

Anybody know about these things? They're right on teh hairy edge of fitting the micro catagory and are just about large enough to be effective letter openers or splinter pickers (with a magnifying glass).

Wife just bought me a Al Mar Osprey with pearl scales this week. Sounds like what you are talking about. They are very nice little knives. They come with a small leather pouch to carry them in. VERY NICE!!:)

Al Mar Osprey's. Handle materials: the pink one you speak of is most likely the Fossilized Apple Core handle, there is also Fossilized Tiger Coral Scales which have a lighter color and more of a spotty pattern to them. There are also Pearl and Black Micarta handles. the Apple Core is the best looking IMHO. All four have AUS-8 steel 1.24" blades and stainless steel bolsters. they are quite a popular knife and make great key chain or necklace knives. They are surprisingly strong for their size and just a "cool factor" about them. I carry a Spyderco SS Police necklace as a key chain myself but these would make fine replacements they remind me of Case small texas toothpicks for some reason.
