Afternoon! I'm asking anyone who has or handled the Micro commander for some feedback. Out of my 9 Emersons. Is still don't have a Commander. I'm looking for a nice little sturdy knife that won't attract attention. Thx fellas :)

Small and discreet would be the two main words I would use to describe my micro. I put it in the waistband of my shorts when I go jogging. Of you have large hands it might not be for you as it really is a micro.

yeah its small. And I never thought the thumb hole worked well enough as an opening mechanism. Mine was pretty tight and it never felt right.

If you wanna go small I'd suggest a mini 7 (if you don't already have one).

And, in my experience and humble opinion with Commanders, if you're going to take the plunge get the standard Commander. Proportionately its a thing of beauty it really is. I've owned micro, mini, and super Commanders but none compare to the good ol' standard Commander model.

Thx fellas! I have a cqc 7. I'm looking for something I can open a bag of m&ms in the theater kinda blade with out the audience going hectic and calling me a threat kinda blade. Does any knew have a cqc 5k from Kershaw. It looks like the same size I'm looking for.

The commander blade, even the micro, is a "scary" looking knife to the non knife folk. If you want a super politically correct knife your best bet is the mini A100.

The micro commander is pretty damn awesome though! The hole could be bigger...

I have micro-, mini-, and full-sized Commanders. They all seem to work fine for me. The micro-Commander will be a bit less noticeable, but like plato01 said... if you're overlooked, even a micro- will scare some folks. Honestly, the Traveler is probably your best bet for a small, friendly-looking Emerson. Sorta looks like a midget Delica.

Amici,
I EDC the micro with a SF finish while in the office, and have never really encountered any issues from the surrounding sheeple.. It does run rather blocky in the pocket, so I wouldn't carry it wearing a suit or slacks. If you wear jeans or something similar, you should find it manageable.

But when I'm off duty, I go with the mini or the Horseman. About the standard Commander, I've been finding that the "wave" has been poking me when I carry it wearing shorts.. But then again, I'm using a custom deep carry clip. I believe that's the cause. Makes a good case as to staying with the original Ernie clip design than upgrading to a custom clip..

Cheers,
Serge
