The Manix 2 seems to be very well-received.... Spyderco even spent big capital expenses to have a mold done for the FRN version.

Who would be in for a "micro" Manix 2? 3 1/4" blade, same thickness G10, liners, and blade..... just a scaled-down, refined version of the mid-sized Manix 2.

I love the "little big knife" philosophy of Spyderco and think they would sell like hotcakes!

Sal - anything in the works? ;)

You should check out the discontinued mini manix. It's a lot like what you're describing, sans the ball bearing lock.

The blade of the manix 2 is 3.37". What would be the difference to you micro manix? The lack of 3mm blade lenght?

Nope, sorry but IMO the Manix 2 in it's current state is legitimately my favorite blade. I have them in 154, s30v, BD1, and love them all.

I would be interested in a mini Manix (a Minix if you will :p) with a blade around 2.5 or so and FFG. Or if it's hollow, a high hollow grind without a lot of belly in the blade. That's why I got rid of my Manix2, hated the grind on that blade.

Oh yeah, just remembered I saw this thread over on the Spyderco forums and I love how the mod looks. If I could get one of these I'd be happy!

That's what I was thinking...go any smaller than the current manix2 and you've basically described the sage series (sage 3 in particular if you want a similar lock)...

You'd have to lose the finger choil if you want enough cutting edge. I think the Manix 2 is a great size as it is. Without a finger choil, it wouldn't be a Manix. It would be a Sage.
