I have a couple Micro Recon 1 knives that are kind of neat . I was just wondering when did CS discountinue these little buggers.
They are strangly absent from the current website. just wondering?
 
If they are discontinued, that would be a shame. I don't see them on the website either. I have one in my pocket everyday. I am not liking the direction Cold Steel has been taking as of late by moving away from AUS-8A.
 
IIRC, they DCed these along with the other AUS8 Recon models, I just don't think they announced any plans to bring them back with XHP, or any other steel for that matter.
 
Its nice to see them graduate to better steels like their completion, but there was never really anything wrong with their AUS8-A.

They probably don't want to offer such a tiny blade in their new fancy steel.

End of an era, I guess.

Yeah, I bet this is it. Oh well, its a good time to snap up the AUS-8A knives at (sometimes) discounted prices. But as a budget-oriented consumer rather than "latest and greatest" steel consumer, the disappearance of the micro and the other AUS-8A knives is a sad thing indeed.
 
The Micros are not discontinued, but they may have temporarily sold out. They are very popular.
They are remaining in Japanese AUS8A

I like the idea of keychain knives. I think there should be a knife for every holder: Pack, pocket, belt, keychain, etc.

Well this is good news, because while I could do without one, I'd like the option to get one and I have been thinking on it a long time.
