I would like to get some spare belts for my work sharp ken onion edition sharpener. I use the X-65, X-22 and X-4 the most but work sharp belts come in a 5-pack and don't really need the 2 other belts.

Micro-surface has some that fit the WSKO but I'm not sure which ones will match my current belts.
Just seeing if anyone is using micro-surface belts and know which to get.
I think I need the alumnium oxide but not sure of the grits to match.

Unless I misunderstood the original post (entirely possible), the KO X65/X22/X4 are available individually off the Work Sharp website.

Click the WSKTS-KO Abrasives link on the left side of the page to see the others.

There are also other belts available for the WSKO, but only by calling customer service (for now). I got a set of the stiff belts recently and a few very low grit belts (60 and 80 grit) and I'm really enjoying them, *especially* the stiff belts. They are a huge difference from the stock belts. I wrote about them in my thread on the WSKO.

Edited to add: I was trying to agree with Bimjo: Yes the belts are available individually, including the new ones that I bought. Shipping is around $6 or $7 and belts are $3 to $4 each.

You can order direct from Micro-mesh. They have the aluminum oxide belts in every grit for about a
buck a piece.

Ok, I looked on Amazon and such and could find the belts pre-packaged in a set of five in the WSSAKO81113 Assorted Belt Kit. Didn't know I could order them separately from Work Sharp.

I see that they are 4x the price of micro-surface belts, are they that superior?
I think I'll give some micro-surface belts a try for the price.

So using the conversion chart, this is what I came up with for the closest match:
X65(p220)=60 MX
X22(p1000)=360 MX or 400 MX
X4(p3000)=600 MX

On the grit conversion, I'm seeing x22 is closer to 240 MX, and x4 is about 800 MX.

I like the Micro-Mesh belts as a supplement to the WSKTS belts, and they're a real bargain per belt. They will hurt you on the shipping, though---about $12.50 min., if I recall correctly.

The MM belts are really a different critter than the standard WSKTS Norax belts---thin and flexible rather than thick and stiff. That's why I see them as a supplement rather than a replacement. I often use this progression and like the results: x65, Work Sharp P400, x22, 360 MX, x4, 6000 (worn). Depending on the blade's condition, I might start with the P400 or the x22.
