A couple of days ago, I purchased a Micro Tech Kestrel. My copy has a plain edge and a Black T blade. I have wanted one since their introduction and finally make the leap. I know at this point there is not much I can say about the Kestrel that has not already been said, but I will reiterate what is already widely known. This knife, my first Micro Tech, fuctions like a fine Swiss watch. It open with authority and locks securely. It closes the same way. It came razor sharp from the box and, because I was unaccustomed to a knife of such diminutive proportions, I nicked my palm with the sharp tip. A very nice piece.

I have 3 Kestrels, acutally the auto is the wifes:confused:
All 3 have perform pefectly and are VERY well made. I made a neck sheath for one of my manuals and have found the blade shape makes an EXCELLENT EDC knife.
Now that I'm getting into folders myself, I find the design of the Kestrel to be an absolute work of engineering art. As a full time CNC programmer/machinist, I find the execution of the knife to ALSO be a work of art !!! (along with all their other models).
Now if they would just make one with about a 4-5" blade;)

Don't have the Kestrel, but I have the Socom Ellite and the LCC and find them to be about the finest examples of production knives that I have ever handled. I'm getting interested in the Kestrel.

Yo Knifenerd,

If you want a Kestrel, you should act soon. I understand they have been discontinued and are becoming scarce.
