[/IMG] I have someone wanting to trade a utx 85-de.
I know microtech has to be one of the most copied companies so I was hoping you guys could help me tell if this one is real.
The biggest thing that is throwing off alarms is he is wanting to trade for a griptilian with no mention of me throwing in money to balance it out. He has provided pictures and the serial number for the knife, and from all I can tell it is either real or a very good fake. I'll attach some pictures below for you guys to comb over
The hardware seems a little off also since it looks darker to me that other pictures I have seen

I'm guessing real on this one, for two reasons:

 1. It appears similar to legit listings
 2. I did a quick search through the Chinese sites and all the UTX-85 double edge knock offs I saw skipped the speed holes (not definitive, certainly, but a good sign)
Check the pics against a known legit site listing, like this one, for a comparison:

Im really leaning toward it being real too, I even counted the holes. I noted the elmax etching was slightly raised, but it seems like it is in others too... might go ahead and pull the trigger

If it is a fake it's a real good one. I'm going with it is real as well and I have 1 to compare it to in my hands identicle.
