microbevel vs burr

i was thinking today about having to sharpen my s30v benchmade 630, and how s30v typically forms burrs. Then i got to wondering whether a microbevel would pretty much eliminate any burr. for example, i use a lansky crock stick setup that does a 20 degree back bevel, and then puts the edge on at 25 degrees. So my question is whether or not the last few strokes at the 25 degree setting would eliminate a burr, and thus make my life a lot easier

Micro-beveling is a common burr removal technique, it has many other benefits for sharpening as well such as efficiency of sharpening and concerns with durability.

I'm just not very good at getting sharp edges.. Since I'm intentionally forming a burr on each side before trying to remove it, I'm pretty sure the issue isn't flat spots where the edge isn't meeting.

When I started raising the angle for a few strokes to make a microbevel, I instantly started getting the nice shaving or "hair popping" sharp edges I was looking for - so I think it must do a very good job at removing any little itty bitty burr that might remain.

25 degrees, I assume means 50 degrees inclusive. This is a pretty high angle for a knife I would guess. I keep mine around 30 degrees total, especially with good steels.
