Microbevel with Edge Pro

Hi, I was wondering if any of you had tips for putting and maintaining a microbevel on your knive with the edge pro. I'm relativly new to the edge pro and can get a good edge on my knives but need help with the microbevel. Should I go through all the grits, then bump the angle up a bit and start going again at say the 600 grit and work my way to the tapes? How much do you bump your angle up and what's your strategy for putting a microbevel with the edge pro? Also, would stropping be sufficient to maintain that microbevel for a while before i have to slap my knife back on the EP?

Thanks,
Bob

Hey Bob,
I've never done it with an EPA but, as a general rule once you have the level of polish that you want on your bevel just raise the angle and choose the grit you're more comfortable with and make some light passes edge leading to create a micro bevel then strop it.
You can maintain the micro bevel with the strop for quite a while before hitting the stones again.

I don't put my EDC knives back onto my EdgePro more often than 3-4 times a year. That said, I don't use them to cut up cardboard boxes every day or chop wood. Once I have a good polished edge, I raise the angle just a wee bit (no, I don't measure it,) and use the finest stone I have, then the polishing tapes or films. After that, just daily stropping if the knife is used, on bare horsehide if only lightly used, or on Chromium Oxide on firm cowhide, then bare horsehide. Usually no more than a dozen strokes on the strops.
