microbevel

I don't actually understand the question. Are you just asking what a micro bevel is and how a knife is sharpened/ground to have one?

Micro bevel/edge bevel refers to the part of the blade that is sharpened to create the edge. On a full flat grind for example, you will have the primary grind which goes from spine to edge, then you will have that secondary grind(the part you sharpen) meeting at the front of the blade to create an edge. The micro part comes in with a style like a scandi or convex blade shape, which usually has what some people call a zero grind, meaning the primary grind goes right to the edge for a very thin edge. A micro bevel happens when you sharpen something like that at a wider angle, creating a thicker edge that is a little tougher while retaining all the characteristics of the primary grind.

I probably explained that terribly. Just got off of a twelve hour shift. Anyway, hope some part of it was helpful/made sense.

There's an 8 page "sticky" thread at the top of this page that talks about microbevels.
