Microserrations?

I stropped a knife using crushed up chalk on the cardboard back of a notebook and the knife felt dull afterwards, so i cleaned the blade off and went to test the edge again, still dull, next thing i know i'm dripping blood from my thumb. I looked at the blade using a magnified view against a white background and i saw hundreds, if not thousands of little tiny ridges. I think these micro serrations would be far superior for skinning. What do you guys think?

i have found that a toothy edge will not only cut a lot better but last a lot longer too. i never go over 400 grit when i convex a blade on my belt sander but sometimes i go with a coarser edge and polish above the edge with a 400 grit belt before going to the slotted paper wheel. you should find this post interesting. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=9207988&postcount=710
