I can open MS Excel, and I can save the work. However, when I try to open the Excel sheet that I just saved, or try to open any older Excel stuff, I get the following:

1. A window opens up saying that Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business is configuring. If I hit cancel, or let it run it's course,

I get the following pop-up:

2. Error 1706, No valid source can be found for the product Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business, Windows installer can not continue. I have to click "OK".

3. Third pop-up is: "This file does not a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an in the Folder Options control panel. I have to click "OK" on this one also. After that, nothing else happens.

My MS Word seems to work fine, I can save and re-open, no problems.

I use Excel for household & vehicle stuff, so I'd like to fix it if possible. I don't have a disk to re-load the program, if that is what it takes.

Thanks.

I think you will need the disc. Sounds like you need something that excel hasen't used before. I would look on MS site under support.

Check you file acssociations and make sure that .xls opens with Excel. just a shot in the dark.
