Hey,

Any of you guys own one? or both?? ;) I'm gonna buy myself one of these 2, but it's not an easy decision....
I like the looks of the amphibian a bit better, but I'm not sure it's a though as the LCC? anyone got opinions on that?
How about the blade? The amphibian looks like a flat ground on the pictures...is it? How does it cut? How is the "camo" coating...will it wear easily?

I want my knife to be sharp..but also though enough for some serious cutting...will these qualify? I'm not so much worried about fit and finish since both are microtech :)

ok... thanks in advance!

I have had both, overall the LCC ownz the amphibian hands down

d/a i might add, manual well thats a different story all together

:D :footinmou

cheers!

I have both (older models) and am sorely tempted to tell you to buy both, they're that good. I'm not a real hard user but they both cut like lazers and seem to hold an edge for a good long time. Both seem equally tough to me.

Before I held a Microtech I didn't understand the hype, but there is a solidity and feel of quality there that makes them worth the price.

The LCC is the beauty queen here but gives up nothing in performance. The CF and anodized standoffs in the open back really make it look nice. The Amphibian is less beautiful in a traditional way (no CF or standoffs) but is still really cool looking and that recurve really slices through stuff. I actually like the weird thumb studs on it, and the micro bar is definitely cooler than a regular liner lock.

Long story short: If it was me, I'd get the LCC first because they're getting harder to find, and later get an Amphibian. If you decide not to follow my advice and get the Amphibian first - congratulations, because it's still a fantastic choice.

Enjoy!

I just traded away an LCC D/A because I can't carry auto knives, but I wouldn't hesitate to get myself (if I had the $$$) a manual LCC. I really liked the knife, fit and finish were perfect, super smooth action. :(
