This new Amphibian has got me stumped. As a LEO I can not see the need to have to push the lock and release a safety just to close it. Even if I was using it to was putting a lot of psi on the unit…..What gives? I had problems taking it out of my pocket because of the arced handle. If I have thin leather gloves on in the winter it would compound the problem. If they are trying to make it a Military type knife I would say try to simplify it the safety position is just wrong……..Even the thumb tab needs work. I hope others will look at it and give critique before it comes out, and the people that influence the company will give MT their ear. Blade is 3-1/2" Handle is titanium

all things can't work for everyone, i LOVE the looks and will get it even if it doesn't becomes a carry piece.

I don't think that the safety is auto engaging, you can choose if you'd like to use it or not, like an additional safety when doing rough stuff?

My knives!

I had ordered 2 of these knives when I seen them at the 2000 Blade show. Was very impressed. They were advertising them as the ultimate/strongest folder out there. Now they add those cheesy rubber inserts and shrink the knife to another mushroom picker! Also what's up with those reversible cutout's for the pocket clip? Looks fugly! If thats the model that rolls off the line they can keep them and I will cancel my order. Really dissapointed with what could have been the ultimate/strongest folder that they have made. I will let my wallet do the talking.

This looks like an interesting folder. I like the idea of the safety. I would even like it to auto-engage. I would prefer a knife that opens and stays open, then one that opens and accidently folds. The size is OK with me, too. The inserts are cheesy, but I can live with it. I really like that it is ambidextrous. I'll have to handle one, but it has a lot of design features that I like. I like the blade shape and handle design. Can't wait to handle one.

Cheers,
Damon
