ive been eyeing this knife for my next purchase. Does anyone own one that can tell me what they think of it? thanks

Had one and a great knife, just the ends of the handle are quite pronounced on the micarta. Had the MTX2 also and proabably would have kept that knife cept the handle didn't fit my hand well, and I have a large hand. The 5 fit it better but couldn't get past the sharpended micarta. Didn't want to sand it down either and modify it although I could have. Look at the Hossom by Ontario. Both sized knives seem like excellant products and the people that have them tend to agree. keepem sharp

i got one a green one, green blade, green micarta. its a good slicer, good size for small hands, solid lockup, no bladeplay. however i had to do some modifications to make it really good. first remove all sharp corners with a 240paper, making it a little more streamlined and more comfortable to wear and use. second, the little cutout that lets you disengage the lock needs to be enlarged, i did this with a small handheld beltgrinder and now this knife is perfect. its my allround knife i use it almost everyday.

actually i dont have any camera so it will be hard for me to post pics, otherwise i would have. its kinda dull olive green, i didnt want a black one so i got the green one instead

The CMTX5 is a nice knife. But I chose the MTX2 over it for several reasons. One is that I don't like the thumb studs to be used as a blade stop. The second reason is that I all ready have a Timberline Valloton. The Timberline and the CMTX5 are both based on the original Chameleon design which I believe was an early Microtech/Valloton collaboration. The Timberline cost me just $35 and I gave the blade a satin finish and I'm currently converting it to DA. It's still not a Microtech. but it was cheap.

great knife, but you need a special tool to tighten up the pivot... that is very inconvenient.
