I saw this knife about a year ago and really liked it, but I was going to wait and see if the price would drop. Apparently it's not going to, but before I buy one I wanted to see what you guys think about it. I have heard bad things about Microtech's customer service, but never really anything bad about their knives. If I do one I want the red handled one with a plain double edge.
If anyone has had any experience with one, handled one or even heard things about them, please comment.
Thanks

This is only hear-say but I've heard that most of what you're paying for is the name. There are other companies that make knives just as well, like Benchmade, for less. Again, this is just what I've heard, never actually owned a Microtech.

I have owned over 100 Microtech's over the years, I owned 2 Combat Troodon's and both worked flawlessly. Finding a Red one is going to be a little tough, Red was a limited run. I searched for a Red one but never had any luck.
That knife is currently out of production. There are some out there right now with the Warren Cliff style blade that can be had at a great price, I handled one yesterday at the local knife show it was NIB for $375.00, For a user the Cliff blade is the way to go, Super easy to keep sharp, That knife fires hard & locks up great. Hope this helps..........

Well I've handled at the Infidel and I don't much care for it, the deployment mechanism seemed very weak. The handle did not feel right to me either, also the one I handle had some blade play as well. It just didn't feel like it was worth the money to me.

Thanks for the info! $375 for the cliff sounds awesome, I might have to check that out.
