Sheath is just amaizing, very comfortable and convinient:

I think it is pretty much fixed blade reincarnation of Amphibian:

This is relatively big knife, it is wide and so proportions may trick your eye, but it is as big as Buck Solution and Rosarms Utes (Cliff):

Here it is near KaBar, so you may see it is pretty big, not too long but quite wide.

This is modern "American Military" style - full tang, micarta (or G10) scales, thick coating. Similar to Swamp Rat, Busse, Fehrman and many others:

Thanks, Vassili.

I am not sure why but this camo background does not really work. I think it just distract too muck and move attention from main subject.

Here same Currahee on neutral background, I think it looks better:

Here I thin perfect match for it - ZT302 from folders world. IMHO this two knives clearly champions so far one among folders, another - fixed blades:

And again Microtech stands for uncompromised quality - see how edge thin! Much thinner then on ZT-302.

Thanks, Vassili.

Awesome pics! I have thought about getting one for a little while and just might after those pictures. I love recurve blade designs. Also seems like a pretty well designed sheath, dual retention,leg strap,front pocket. IMHO the sheath is the most overlooked part of most knives, especially military style knives. It's almost like a fine rifle and no scope or sights.

Yes sheath is the best I ever see - some thing I still have to lear what they are for, but leg strap it just amaizing - absolutely different feel! I can jump, kick, crowl, climb - whatever and knife will be secure as a part of you body - no troubles at all, complete freedom in this regards. And to attach it to belt you do not need to take belt off.

Well knife is also one of the best fixed blades.

Thanks, Vassili.

I wait for this knive from the time I found out about it on their new website. I was wondering about edge thickness. Nobody has such fine edge as Microtech, which is most important parameter to cutting performance of the blade as well as easyness of sharpening and so I looking forward to have same thiny edge on big fixed blade knifewhich Microtech just introduced first time (as I remember).

And Microtech did not fail me - Currahee has shawing sharp 3/128" edge vs 4/128" on for example Buck Solutin or 6/128" on SAR Swamp Rat.

Thanks, Vassili.

Results of sharpness test for Currahee out of the box sharpness:

40 ++++
50 +++++
60 +X+++++
70 ++++
80 +

Result is 60 g bit close to 50 g. This is same as Spyderco Military BG42, which shows so far best result and I used it as benchmark.

50 +++++
60 +++++X++++
70 ++++++

Currahhe shows little bit better sharpness - median is close to 50 g.

This is very impressive for relatively big fixed blade knife. I was also surprized by D2 which has quite big carbides in it, but is as good as BG42. I guess I will not resharpen it - I can not achive same sharpness myself yet.

Thanks, Vassili.
