Hi all,

I've been looking into the microtech currahee as a camp knife on several forums, but there aren't that many threads on it, the ones i found are for the most selling threads.

does this mean it really is not that good of a knife?

i was looking for a comparison with a strider mfs type of knife, anyone have any input on that?

thanks alot,

ko

imo, it seems too expensive for what it is. there are PLENTY of options for for under $150. it does look cool though. -CB

It has exceptional thin edge and grind, as any Microtech knives - it is excellent cutter. There are not too many knives with this excellent edge, even among folders and kitchen knives. Keeping it this way require precise HT, so cost is higher for reason.

It has one of the best ergo for handle - share this with Mission MDK.

Overall knife is well thought through and not just something to please current tactical taste.

In terms of camp tasks, I guess it is not too good chopper, it is exceptional cutter very powerful cutter, but not chopper - if you have ax or ax made in for of knife (many of this you may find around) it should not be a problem.

Thanks, Vassili.

P.S. pics.

And NIB sharpness best for fixed blades I ever tested.

I bought one for the heck of it. Ergonomics are outstanding and it is probably the sharpest knife I have ever purchased - sharper than thinner bladed Benchmades, Spydercos, etc. Sharper even than my MT HALO. I am afraid to use it because I will never be able to sharpen it to that level of sharpness.

My only complaint is that it is hard to pull it out of the sheath without cutting those button strap things that hold it in the sheath.

that currahee is nice,,,been looking for one myself to buy but seem too expensive right now,,
